Creating your own imagery can often be a challenge, particularly when you’re not a photographer.
And I get it. I used to feel the same way too!
I used to think that the only way for me to have pretty images was to rely on a photographer but that’s actually not true.
Being able to capture your own work (even using something as simple as your phone camera) means you’ll be able to grow your image bank and when you find you need a photo to use as a background to your Instagram stories, you can quickly browse through your phone and grab one.
Seriously, SO simple and SO quick.
Now, after a lot of trial and error, I realised that using something as simple as your phone camera can be just as good.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love working with photographers and they could never be replaced with my less-than-perfect phone camera photos but where I’m not able to have my photographer pals with me, it is actually the next best thing and seriously, it’s not that bad!
I realised that the key is to whip out your phone camera and look through the camera as you move it around your styled scene and find the crops that you like.
Mind-blowingly simple right?
And then tweak it using an editing app (I personally love VSCO) and voila!
And you might be thinking “um is she for real?”.
Seriously guys, I am. See these photos here?
This is EXACTLY what I do when I’m shooting my own work and also on a shoot when working with a photographer.
And I actually use these images too (after a little editing of course)!
So don’t let the whole I’m-not-a-photographer thing stop you because YOU CAN create good images yourself. You just need to give it a go.
Do you have a creative business that needs to stand out? You need amazing brand imagery- and you need to be able to create it yourself to attract your ideal clients.
